All participating zoos are encouraged to host Ape Week from April 18th to 24th, in the run-up to Easter Sunday. A coordinated focus on the campaign, with lots of ape-related activities, will hopefully generate lots of interest across Europe.
It’s up to individual institutions to decide how they wish to implement Ape Week and whether to go for a whole week, or maybe just one weekend. In any case participants can find lots of ideas for activities in the Resources section including some specific ideas for Ape Week. We’ve also prepared a sample press release that can be used to create your own release to raise awareness about Ape Week. Again see the Resources section. (Only accessible to campaign participants.)
